Womens Health Supplements
Walk down any health food store aisle, and you will be bombarded by products touting the benefits of a womans health supplement. But do you need a supplement? If so, what kind? It certainly can seem overwhelming!
While vitamins, minerals, and other womens health supplements are no substitute for medicines or for a doctors care, they still play a positive and helpful role in many womens health issues.
Taking top quality supplements may be one of the most simple and affordable things you can do each day to support a variety of womens health issues. A good plan is to take a balanced daily formula.
If you are pregnant or lactating, use caution when taking any kind of womens health supplements. Talk to your doctor first. Your doctor will probably recommend a prenatal vitamin that is specially formulated for pregnancy.
Rather than take a handful of individual womens health supplements tablets, such as vitamin A, B, C, D, E, etc., it is usually more economical and convenient to take a complete daily formula.
A good "multi" formula should give you a generous blend of high quality vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, amino acids, enzymes, herbal supplements, etc. A quality formula should be made up of the most natural food factors available, not synthetic chemicals.
Most multi-vitamin formulas do not include amino acids. Check the labels. It is difficult to find multi-vitamins for women that contain amino acids.
A good multi-vitamin formula should contain just the right balance of the following.
* Vitamins* Minerals* Amino Acids* Herbal Extracts * Antioxidants* Bioflavonoids * Enzymes * Neuronutrients
A multivitamin designed for a woman would include herbal ingredients that are not the same as youd find in a mans formula. Such as Black Cohosh, Wild Yam Extract and other "womens" herbs.
It should also include Antioxidants such as Zeaxanthin, Bilberry, Selenium, Green Tea, etc.
