How does yoga work
1. Breathing

Most people usually breathe incorrectly - shallow chest breathing. These short chest breaths are usually caused by some sort of anxiousness or stress/ tension. Yoga, by contrast, ensures that the bearthing technique is far deeper and forces the user to breath using their diaphragm. This new full breathing is part of the recipe for increasing our vitality and energies.

2. Postures

The yoga positions exercise and stretch muscles in the body that greatly help with relaxation and therefore meditation. Probably the most famous position that everyone will have seen somewhere or other is the 'lotus position'. This represents self-awareness. There are many many positions... 'Asanas' are performed in a certain order that helps the flow of our bodies (circulation) and also helps to push any toxins from the body.

3. Meditation

This is often seen as the last step in becoming successful at yoga. Once all the exercises are mastered to a certain level, along with the breathing techniques, meditation then becomes the final step. It is essentially deep relaxation that helps to calm the mind and to focus.
